In our first ‘Meet the Team’ interview, we had the chance to catch up with Brad Heath, the manager at Moorland Heating. Having worked with us for over ten years, it was interesting to learn about Brad’s hobbies! (And, of course, his work at our company!)
How Long Have You Been Working at Moorland Heating?
I started at Moorland Heating in October 2013, so I’ve been here for 10 and a half years.
Where Did You Work Before MH?
I started in the industry as a British Gas apprentice in July 1991 and continued working there until I began with Moorland in October 2013. I’ve known Brendan since starting at British Gas in 1991.
What Does Your Typical Day at MH Look Like?
A typical day starts with me going through engineers’ work, ensuring they understand what needs to be done at each job and answering any questions. Once the engineers are out and about, I will go out myself to do any on-day breakdowns, services, or quotes. I am also available to help engineers with technical advice.
Describe Your Favourite Part of Your Job Role.
My favourite part of my job role has to be the ability to see a job through from the very start to when it is completed, whether it’s from the initial quote to installation and the final invoice or calling a customer with a broken boiler to then being able to repair and get them up and running again.
What Gives You the Most Job Satisfaction?
Being able to see the end product, whether it’s a fully functioning heating system, a new boiler, or a new bathroom.
How Do You Like to Relax Outside of Work? Any Hobbies?
I enjoy playing Golf, spending time with family and friends and watching Rugby.
Do You Avidly Support Any Sports Teams? Have You Been to See Them in Person?
I like to watch Exeter Chiefs when I get the chance, whether on TV or on a visit to Sandy Park.
Where is Your Favourite Holiday Destination, and Why?
Fig Tree Bay in Cyprus, where my wife and I had our Honeymoon.
Lastly, What is Your Favourite Random Object Within the Moorland Heating Offices and Why?
We used to have a full-size stormtrooper, which was my favourite!
